So although it’s hard to hit farther targets, you can compensate for that deficiency with practice, unless your aiming chops are already solid. But unlike the Silent MP5, your accuracy is skill-dependent and not random you don’t have to worry about massive kickback, and the bullets seem to fly straight even over long distances. Depending on your skill level, learning how to use it may take you awhile. It’s just that it’s a high-skill, high-reward gun. But I truly believe the Silent Makarov is the best gun in the game. I’ve played this game for over 10 years, and almost always, I’ve played stealth. It shoots fast, and the suppressed flash makes it easy to see what you’re shooting at.
It’s probably my most used Primary Weapon. Don’t get me wrong, I actually like this gun and use it a lot. The awful accuracy was probably for balancing purposes, as otherwise there’d be no point in using the other stealth weapons. It’s not like they won’t know where you are, but they will know you’re there and will look for you. There’s a chance that the extra shots will fly off and alert the other enemies, even though it’s a silent gun. This is not outright terrible, but with stealth, the ideal is to take someone down with one shot. In my experience, you need to line up the shot and do about a 3 to 5-round burst fire to consistently get head shots. I’ve had several experiences where I would line up the iron sights seemingly perfectly on my opponent’s head, and still, the bullets would fly just over the guy or off to the side. This really kills the accuracy of the MP5. When you shoot, it shakes like a fish fighting to get out of your hands. Sounds like 360° slam dunk with fireworks shooting off in the background, right? The problem is the kickback. And yes, it even has “Silent” in its name. Ahhh yes, the Silent MP5……what can one say about the Silent MP5? It’s….averageee? Yes yes, it has a silencer on it.
